Event Description

St. John Standard First Aid Recertification course for adult Scouters.

Instructor: Doug Hall

When: 8:30-4:30 Saturday Dec. 1, 2018.

Participants are eligible if they are within 3 yrs of their last regular Standard course.

The one day Re-cert cannot be taken twice In a row -- if your last course was the one day re-cert, you need to do the two day course.

Lug-a-Mug, bring your own lunch, and dress to be active.

Event Description

This is the annual Winter Outdoor Skills Course, held at the Baxter Conservation Area.

Cost: $30.00 (covers the facility fees and program costs, payable to Scouts Canada-Carleton Area)

There is an indoor facility but participants will be invited to be outdoors for practical sessions and sleeping out.

Participants will be self-sufficient for camping and meals.

Event Description

Youth and Carleton Area Scouters are encouraged to join us for the evening as we greet members of the public and showcase what makes each Carleton Area group unique. Each group can set up a display, talk to prospective members, and recruit parent volunteers. Youth can lead others in small activities and describe weekly meetings and adventure opportunities.

We are currently seeking an Area Youth Commissioner for Valley Highlands! The Area Youth Commissioner position, as a member of the Area Key 3, gives youth the leadership opportunity to help sections develop strong youth leadership teams, encourages youth-feedback in the plan-do-review process and spearheads initiatives to connect youth in the area in fun events and adventures!
