Nepean Area Remembrance Day

Nepean Area Scouts have an annual presence at this ceremony, and this year is no exception.
Here are the essentials:
Why: Show your thanks to veterans for past service and sacrifice, and your support for current service personnel.
When: November 11 from approximately 10:20 to 12:00 (rain or shine)
Where: Rendezvous at City of Ottawa parking lot on Constellation Drive (10:20-10:40)
What: Procession to Cenotaph from Centrepointe & Constellation (10:40-10:55)
Remembrance Ceremony and wreath laying (11:00-11:40)
Procession back (11:45-12:00)
Who: Need at least 8 youth volunteers from all sections to
- Carry up to 7 flags (Canada flag, Scouting flag, and 5 Section flags)
- Lay wreath (one youth from any section)
- March in procession behind flag bearers (as many as are interested)
Need enough leaders to maintain overall ratio with participating youth
Dress: Full uniform and weather-appropriate attire … don’t forget the poppy! Uniform only when laying wreath
If interested in participating, or if just curious for more information, please contact me no later than a week before the event. This will allow time to organize and educate the volunteers, and solicit for more volunteers if needed. In your response, be sure to include participant’s name, group, section, the task for which they are volunteering (flag, wreath, or parade), and an email address to which I can supply more information.
