Scouts Canada Camp Opemikon Staff Scholarship

The Camp Opemikon Staff Scholarship Program provides financial support to members of Scouts Canada with a connection to Opemikon, either as staff or OPE Crew membership, entering or continuing in full-time studies at Canadian universities or colleges.

All recipients are motivated youth who, with the help of their Scouting experiences, have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and a desire to create a better world. As they progress through life, these skills will be carried with them as they become successful adults in the community.

Eligibility

  • All prior and current Opemikon staff, having completed a minimum of one year on staff, and all prior and current members of the Opemikon Crew, having completed a minimum of one year membership are welcome to apply.
  • You must be a current member of Scouts Canada in good standing. If you were a Scouts Canada member, but no longer hold an active membership, please reach out to the Camp Director or the Committee Chair as we may have a solution for you.
  • Applicants must not have reached their 26th birthday on January 1 of the year in which they apply.
  • Staff or Crew members that have received this scholarship previously are not eligible.

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated Scouting history, involvement, and achievement
  • Leadership contributions to Scouting and Camp Opemikon
  • Community leadership and contributions outside of Scouting
  • Scholastic achievements up to the time of application
  • Attitude and aptitude

Recipients must agree to have their names and photographs published in conjunction with the award and with any promotion of the awards.
