Council Popcorn Coordinator – Marketing Lead

Voyageur Council is currently searching for two volunteers to coordinate fundraising and Group engagement for Scout Popcorn as Marketing Leads and Council Popcorn Coordinators. These volunteer positions would focus on helping Groups grow their sales and help support new Groups who are participating in the Scout Popcorn campaign. These are ideal opportunities for two people who enjoy project coordination, fundraising, the not-for-profit sector, and Popcorn!

Scout Popcorn is Scouts Canada’s national fundraiser and help Groups fundraise for their next big adventure as well as help support membership fees, program development and initiatives like No One Left Behind.

Assist the Popcorn Team  

Reporting to the Council Key 3 and the National Coordinator

Time required: 3 hours per week into addition to 4-5 hours per week in April through June and in September through November.


  • Develop fundraising goals, action plans and implementation of fundraising growth in the Council;
  • Work closely with Council Popcorn Logistic Lead to form budget to help increase sales growth for Groups;
  • Work closely with National Popcorn coordinator and Council Popcorn Logistic Lead to determine ideal timeline for your Council;
  • Prepare for and participate in, the Annual Popcorn Kick-Offs;
  • Assist Groups with fundraising and sales techniques to help grow their sales;
  • Visit Groups regionally for goal setting and fundraising seminars;
  • Provide feedback to the Scouts Canada National office and to the Council regarding the Popcorn Campaign;
  • Collaborate with Logistics Lead as you will both be the principal point of contact on matters of the Popcorn Campaign for the Groups; and
  • Provide support to the Group as required in the preparation and submission of Popcorn orders.


The ideal candidates will:

  • Have an interest or experience in fundraising, sales or marketing;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills;
  • Be able to communicate important deadlines and requirements;
  • Enjoy public speaking;
  • Enjoy being part of a team; and
  • Be committed to Scouts Canada’s value and mission.
